兵庫県が誇る思想家「和辻 哲郎」は、気候が風土を創り、風土が文化を育むとしました。
今、気候変動が私たちの生活を脅かし始めています。
産業革命以降の技術は、私たちの生活を便利で快適にしてきました。
しかしその陰で、私たちの文化がひっそりと消えようとしています。
大量生産・大量消費に慣れてしまった私たちの生活は、気候変動を引き起こし、文化を消滅させようとしています。

日本は資源が限られた国です。私たちの先達は、この限られた資源を最大限に生かして生活を真に豊かにする技術を残しました。
これらは遺産となり鑑賞や感嘆の対象となっています。しかし、この技と術には、数百年にわたって持続可能な社会を構築した実績があるのです。

今、残されたこれらの遺産に新たな命を吹き込むことは、脱炭素を実現し、持続可能な社会へ舵を切ることなのです。
これは、決して回帰的な道ではありません。先達の知恵と現在の技術を融合させることが、最速で安心な持続可能な世界への海路なのです。

 

兵庫は日本の始まりの地であり、近代社会の幕開けをどこよりも早く経験した歴史があります。
また、阪神淡路大震災を経て、災害にレジリエントな街へと再生しました。
今、気候変動という大災害を前に、その備えの必要性が叫ばれています。
兵庫には、脱炭素と気候変動への適応の両面から持続可能な社会への再生を示す力と経験、知恵があります。
Hyogo Navigatorは、この兵庫の先達を繋ぎ、術と技をあつめ、世界と共に気候変動時代の海路図を描くことを目指しています。

To be a Lighthouse, Guiding the Waterway to a Sustainable Future through the promotion of traditional culture of Japan and Hyogo

Watsuji Tetsuro, a prominent philosopher from Hyogo Prefecture, asserted that the intersection of climate and land, known as Fudo, nurtures culture. 
Now, our lives are being threatened by climate change. The convenience and comfort brought about by technology since the Industrial Revolution are undeniable. However, behind the scenes, our culture is quietly disappearing. Our accustomed lifestyle of mass production and mass consumption is not only contributing to climate change but also putting our culture at risk of disappearing.
Japan, a country with limited resources, has a rich legacy left by our predecessors. They developed technologies that truly enhance our lives by maximizing these scarce resources. This legacy is now cherished, appreciated, and admired.

Revitalizing these enduring legacies is not regressive; instead, it is a strategic move toward achieving decarbonization and steering a course to a sustainable society, combining the wisdom of our predecessors with current technology for the fastest and safest journey to a sustainable world.

Hyogo, as the birthplace of Japan with a history of resilience post the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, is poised to showcase its power, experience, and wisdom in leading the way. Today, we are called upon to prepare for the catastrophe of climate change. Hyogo Navigator envisions connecting the masters of Hyogo, gathering their skills and knowledge, and collectively charting a course within our local community and on a global scale towards a desired future in the era of climate change.
